The ZP-400 Vane Type De-foaming Device (Foam Reducing Pack) offered by Zeta-pdm Ltd assists with foam reduction because of the smooth sinusoidal flow pattern between the vane blades which helps to reduce the quantity of foam. Note, however, that we do not claim a “zero foam” solution with this device. In situations where foaming is a major concern, we would strongly recommend using our 4G-FD® Demisting Cyclones for a foam eliminating solution.

In contrast, the ZP-400 Vane Type De-foaming Device will be provided in response to the preference of the Client for a Vane Type device, or where significant foaming and / or fouling are expected to occur. With this type of separator, the vanes do not contain hooks or troughs that may become blocked.

Additionally, the arrangement produces a very robust device and, under certain conditions, the Vane Type separator may be operated as a coalescer instead of a foam breaker.

Demisting Cyclones Flow Assurance

The Zeta-pdm Ltd 4G-FD® Demisting Cyclones are designed to polish the gas prior to compression. The CFD model of these cyclones includes the swirl generation element. It is the modelling of swirl that allows the CFD model to accurately predict the droplet separation characteristics of these cyclones with the client’s process data. The inclusion of swirl raises the benchmark within the industry and renders obsolete the practice maintained by the competition of modelling cyclones as straight flow through a box.
